BROWNING The KG KouGars took the trip to Browning Saturday for the Browning Invitational where the host Indians won the meet with 29 points, while the KouGars finished second with 32.

Aaron Smith and Eric Hanson were second and third, respectively. Smith finished with a time of 16:37 and Hanson finished in 16:57.

Justin Antonich finished fifth with a time of 17:35. In sixth place, with a mark of 17:54, was KGs Virgil Stewart. Deven Donovan came in 16th place with a time of 18:39. Joey Fallo ran to a 22nd place finish with a 19:40. The KouGars final runner was Thomas Marshall who took 35th with a finishing time of 21:02.

KG head coach Paul Anderson said this was the best meet of the year for his team. Anderson said he is a little disappointed in losing to Browning, but, said it was the closest they have been all year. The top four runners are where they need to be, but, Anderson said, they need their fifth runner to move up so they can beat Browning.

The KouGars get another chance this weekend when they run in the Havre Invitational.

Overall, Anderson said, he is happy with with the teams progress this season. He said he is hoping they will peak for state, which is less than three weeks away.
