Two men pleaded guilty to crimes and a third was sentenced for his crimes in 12th Judicial District Court recently.
Casey Owens Mummey, 18, Havre, pleaded guilty Sept. 28 to theft and assault charges stemming from an incident at a home in the 400 block of 10th Avenue on June 25, 1999. Mummey was given two consecutive 6-month suspended jail sentences and ordered to abide by conditions established in his plea agreement.
Nathan Richard Schafer, 23, Havre, pleaded guilty Monday to burglary and misdemeanor theft. The charges resulted from a break-in at a Beaver Creek Park cabin on June 22. Judge John Warner ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for 10:30 a.m. Nov. 1.
The maximum penalty for felony burglary is 20 years in prison and a $50,000 fine plus a $20 prosecution fee and $5 surcharge. The misdemeanor carries a maximum jail sentence of six months and a maximum fine of $500 plus a $15 prosecution fee and $5 surcharge.
Ryan Reinmuth, 19, Havre, was given a 4-year deferred imposition of sentence Monday on a burglary charge he pleaded guilty to on Aug. 27. The charge involved the break-in to a west Havre beer distributorship and the theft of property valued at $2,823.24. Reinmuth was ordered to pay $2,432.85 restitution, to earn his GED, and to pay fees and surcharges associated with the case. He must abide by conditions of release as set down in the presentencing investigation.
