CLOVIS LECOMPTE
BILLINGS Clovis LeCompte, 68, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, at his home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Smith Downtown Chapel. Interment will be at Mountainview Cemetery. There is no visitation.
LeCompte was born Feb. 17, 1931, in McLaughlin, S.D., to Margaret and Elmer LeCompte. He moved to Billings with his mother and stepfather, Ed Widner, when he was young. He joined the Marine Corps and served from 1951 to 1953 in the Korean War. He was decorated with honors. He served in the Marine Corp reserves until 1956. He worked in the smelters in Anaconda, Great Falls and Butte. He also worked for Great Western Sugar Factory in Billings.
He enjoyed fishing and working in his flower garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Darlene (Sis), Vivian, Bernice and a brother, Elmer (Sunny).
Survivors include a daughter, Denise Windy Boy of Havre; sisters, Marice Kust of Ballantine and Gerri Meader of Yakima, Wash.; brothers, LeRoy Widner and Jim Widner of Billings; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
