The KG KouGars finished out their fourth season of cross country last weekend at the Wildcat Invitational in Harlem.
The KouGars won the meet for the first time during the past three years, as they were able to get by Poplar.
Individually for KG, Aaron Smith crossed the finish line first with a time of 15:40. In second place was Eric Hanson, who had a mark of 16:06. Justin Antonich finished in sixth place with a finishing time of 16:43.
In 13th place was Deven Donovan, who had a time of 17:15. Virgil Stewart had a time of 17:16. In 30th place was Joey Fallo, who had a mark of 18:39, and rounding out the field was Thomas Marshall in 55th, with a time of 20:17.
KG head coach Paul Anderson said it was a breakthrough for Smith to win the race and a great time for a sophomore. Anderson said he is really pleased as they head into Helena this Saturday for the state meet.
All seven KG runners will go, but only the top five will be scored.
Anderson said hopefully they can stay healthy this week and get everyone there.
Four-peat. That is our goal, Anderson said.
