MALTA Christopher Lee Chris Matthews, 19, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, north of Malta in an automobile accident.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Adams Memorial Chapel in Malta. Cremation will follow the services at the Hi-Line Crematory in Malta.
Matthews was born March 4, 1980, at Fort Belknap, to Steve Matthews and Billie R. Lankford. He was raised and educated at Malta and graduated from the Malta High School in May of 1999. He played football while in school and enjoyed wrestling. He had been working at Albertsons in Malta.
Survivors include his mother and her friend, Billie R. Matthews and Bobby Cilz; his father and step-mother, Steve and Colleen Matthews of Malta; sisters, Rene Hould and Stephanie Matthews of Malta and Karie Golie of Havre; paternal grandparents, Vern and Marian Matthews of Lewistown; maternal grandmother, Cecelia Lankford of Dodson; paternal great grandmother, Ione Corney of Malta; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, two nieces and one nephew.
Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
