The MSU-Northern Skylights basketball team opened its season on the road with two wins over the University of Lethbridge Friday and Saturday.
Friday, freshman Jana Smith had a game-high 17 points, including two 3-pointers in the Skylights victory.
Brianne Dunn joined Smith in double figures with 13 points, and snatched four steals in the contest.
Kelsy Burgmaier and Abby Hjorth each chipped in eight in the contest.
Burgmaier also tore down a game-high eight rebounds, while Laura Munson of Chinook grabbed six.
Smith nailed 7-of-7 field goals and tallied 15 points as the Skylights downed the University of Lethbridge 78-39 Saturday.
Dunn went 6-for-8 from the floor, and also notched 15 points in the victory. She also grabbed four steals.
Munson had seven rebounds to pace the Skylights.
Eleven of the 13 suited Skylights scored, including, coming off the bench, Anna Fabatz with seven, Burgmaier with nine and Myra Bagley and Jennifer Young with six points each.
The Skylights will play at home Nov. 6, against nationally-ranked Black Hills State.
