The MSU-Northern Lights, 4-0 in the preseason, meet the Sons of Blue Angels tonight at the MSU-Northern gymnasium.
The Lights, who average more than 110 points per game, will rely on their pressure defense and running game to keep the Blue Angels out of their offense.
Well need to handle their height, head coach Tim Walker said about the Blue Angels. Theyre very big, so well need to double team them and force the ball outside.
In its first weekend of games, Northern used a smothering full-court pressure defense to keep the University of Calgary out of its offense.
The Lights caused 65 turnovers in two games against the Dinos.
The Lights have placed six different players in double figures.
Keith Carothers nailed six 3-pointers and tallied 29 points in the first game of the season.
Bruce Stacy hit six 3-pointers to lead the Lights with 22 points the following night.
Last weekend, Carothers had 26 points, including four 3-pointers.
Saturday, Dustin Endsley had 24 points, Mel Stubblefield had 23 points, and Stacy notched 21 in the win.
Russell Keller, Michael Claxton, JC Linderman and Chad Meyer have also tallied double figures this season.
Forward Krste Serafimoski is still out with an injury.
Were still going to run and gun, Walker said. Hopefully our conditioning by the end of the game will take over some.
Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. tonight at Northern.
