HAMILTON -- Kay Peterson, 60, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at a Missoula hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton with the Rev. Roland McDonald officiating. Private family urn placement will take place at a later date in the Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.

Peterson was born Nov. 24, 1939, in Seattle, Wash., to Everette and Lois Shulund. The family lived briefly in Hamilton before moving to Havre where she attended elementary, high school and college. After college, she lived in several communities until moving to Hamilton and the Bitter Root Valley in 1976.

She worked several years as a real estate sales person and later as a broker for her parents, owners of Shulund Realty in Hamilton. After her parents retired in 1986, she purchased the business. She won several awards including Realtor of the Year award for her outstanding service. She served as secretary, Vice President, and President of the Bitterroot Valley Board of Realtors.

She enjoyed her work with customers and clients.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1995.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Peterson of Hamilton; her mother, Lois Shulund of Hamilton; her children, Renee Whitaker of Hamilton; sons, Steve Skogstad, Pat Skogstad and Jane Slatinsky, all of Minn., Perry Skogstad of Spokane, Wash., and Erik Skogstad of Ogden, Utah; brothers, Chuck and Lynn Shulund of Hamilton and Ray Shulund of Spokane, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the donor's choice.

Daly-Leach Chapel of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
