On the road again.

The MSU-Northern Skylights (8-5) hit the road again this weekend as they head for North Dakota to play Minot State on Saturday night and the University of Mary on Sunday.

The Skylights got the win over Minot State in the first go-round at the Townhouse Invitational held at Havre.

Northern, however, fell to the University of Mary at the Skylights Invitational.

Northern currently sits second in the conference, behind conference newcomer Lewis-Clark State of Idaho.

The Skylights are fourth in conference in team scoring, averaging 60.6 points per game. Northern sits third in both team rebounds and in field goal percentage.

Northern freshman Jana Smith is third in the conference in points per game with 14.3.

Skylight Kristine Noel is eighth in points per game in the conference. Smith and Noel also sit fifth and sixth, respectively, in free throw percentage.

Noel is shooting 51.5 percent from the field and is averaging 1.69 steal per game.

The Skylights have been on the road since the start of the month, and are not home again until the middle of January, when conference play begins.

Northern heads to the Master's Invitational the weekend after Christmas in California.

The Skylights played great against Western last weekend and then fell to Rocky in the Frontier Conference Tip-off Tournament championship game.

Head coach Ray Peters said the win against Western was a big confidence booster and hopefully they can carry that momentum.
