A woman pleaded guilty Monday during her appeal in 12th Judicial District Court of a lower court traffic conviction, a man admitted violating conditions of his release, and two other men were sentenced.
Amy Jo Spackman, 18, Havre, pleaded guilty to a charge of third offense minor-in-possession of alcohol for a ticket she received on June 12, 1999. Sentencing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 18, 2000.
Jeff Blaine Dolphay, 20, Havre, Monday admitted breaking conditions of his 3-year deferred sentence by committing a criminal mischief offense. His hearing for revocation of the deferred sentence he receive on a criminal mischief charge was scheduled for 11 a.m. Feb. 7, 2000. The original sentence on Sept. 4, 1998 stemmed from several incidents in March 1998 in which Dolphay damaged dumpsters around Havre with a pickup. He also was ordered to pay $1,808.80 restitution at that time.
Brian Francis English, 19, Havre, was given a 2-year deferred imposition of sentence for felony burglary and a six-month deferred sentence misdemeanor theft. He must pay restitution, plus a prosecution fee and surcharge. English pleaded guilty Nov. 22, 1999 to charges of felony burglary and misdemeanor theft arising from the burglary of a home in the 700 block of Sixth Avenue on Aug. 17, 1999. A loaded pistol was among the items reported stolen.
Ronald William Britt, 23, Box Elder, pleaded guilty Monday to felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor theft. The charges arose from incidents in Highland Park on Aug. 19, 1999 in which Britt stole a purse from a woman at a store. When he realized police were looking for him, Britt swallowed prescription pills and hid marijuana cigarettes and the purse in an alley. He was sentenced to two years in prison on the tampering charge and six months in jail for the misdemeanor. All time was suspended on condition that Britt remain law-abiding and abide by conditions set down in his presentencing investigation.
