If you live in Havre you probably haven't been lucky enough to visit the Prairie Essence Bakery. I'm telling you, you are missing out on some great baked goodies. Some of the best around. And the cheesecake is absolutely out of this world.
This warm little bakery makes fresh breads, sandwiches, pastries, soups, Italian sodas, cappuccinos, and of course, cheesecake.
To me, this cheesecake is the best around. Period. Let me tell you, I have had my share of cheesecake and this is cheesecake of the highest degree. Made with the finest ingredients and finest cheese, it tops all other cheesecake around. While all of the bakery's food is great, I think that you will find the cheesecakes to be the best. They are my favorite. But not only are they good but the variety of flavor is remarkable. Everything from huckleberry to Snickers to Black Forest is available. They have several different flavors on hand at a time and if you want to order one for a special occasion, you can pick anything that you want. I must admit, I have a weakness for this stuff, its highly habit forming and you may end up developing a mild addiction to it.
If you don't have a taste for rich food like cheesecake, then I would recommend one of the excellent sandwiches or trying one of the delicious homemade soups that are made there. Any and all of the soups and sandwiches are great, then finish off your meal with a freshly baked strudel or one of the other pastries.
To find the Prairie Essence Bakery, simply turn off from the main highway and onto Main Street. Drive to the end of Main and there it sits, a neat log building with a sign out front that reads, Prairie Essence Bakery.
So the next time that you pass through Big Sandy and get hungry, go grab a bite to eat at Prairie Essence, I don't think that you will be disappointed.
