While the remodeling still isn't finished, the Havre Subway reopened last week, now serving yogurt.
The sandwich shop closed Jan. 11 to finish a remodeling job which included adding a TCBY yogurt counter. Work had already been underway moving the kitchen farther north to make room for a larger dining space and the TCBY counter.
T.J. Burt, who opened the Havre franchise in 1990 with his father, Jim Burt, said they expected the shop to reopen in six to seven days, but due to unexpected problems finishing the new flooring, they had to stay closed 15 days instead.
The Subway sandwich counter reopened Wednesday, Jan. 26 and the TCBY counter opened the next day.
Work still remains to be done. Burt said he expects the tiling for front of the counters to be done today, and work still remains on the walls.
The remodeling was extensive. As well as moving the kitchen and the sandwich counters and adding the yogurt counter, the dining space was nearly doubled, and given an updated look.
The shop now serves three flavors of soup daily with their sandwiches, as well as serving TCBY selections. Burt said that they serve six flavors of the yogurt daily, along with three selections of swirled yogurt.
