Sugarbeeter netters fall to Scotties in conference action

By Tiffany L. Rehbein

For the second time this season, the Glasgow Scotties upended the Chinook Sugarbeeters in District 2B action, this time by a score of 57-45.

Adam Gibson led the Sugarbeeters with 12 points and was the only Chinook player in double figures.

"We played pretty well at times, we just weren't able to put together an extensive offensive run," Chinook head coach Mark Roseberry said.

The Sugarbeeters committed just six turnovers in the contest, but struggled to contain Glasgow's Ben Radakovich, who scored a game-high 23 points in the contest from the perimeter.

"Glasgow shot the ball well from the perimeter," Roseberry said.

Chinook shot just 29 percent from the field in the contest.

Scott Fritz tallied eight points for Chinook, while Tyler Oehmcke added six and Mason Roseberry scored five.

Kalled Jaha, the Sugarbeeters' leading rebounder, went down with an ankle injury in the second quarter.

While he did not play the rest of the night against the Scotties, he is expected to return this weekend when Chinook plays at Poplar on Friday and hosts Fort Benton on Saturday for parents night.
