Hays-Lodgepole, Little Rockies FFA sponsoring ag equipment show

There will be quite a selection of agricultural equipment at the Havre Holiday Village Shopping Center soon.

They won't be for sale by any shop at the Holiday Village.

The Hays-Lodgepole and Little Rockies FFA clubs are sponsoring an agricultural equipment show.

Bud Robinson, the advisor of the FFA chapter at Hays-Lodgepole High School, said equipment distributors at Havre will be displaying an assortment of tractors, tractor equipment and fertilizer equipment at the show. He said there will be an antique tractor displayed as well.

The show runs from Saturday, Feb. 19 through Saturday, Feb. 26.

Robinson said since this is the first year for the show, he wanted to keep it on the small side. He said he plans on expanding the show next year. He said he wants to include more companies as far as technology is involved. He also wants to include a breakfast at next year's show, he said.

Agriculture is still very big in northern Montana, Robinson said. He said he wants to show members of the community that it is still significant, and that the FFA is alive and well.

Robinson said that there are many FFA chapters in the area. He said some are strong programs that have been around a long time, others are smaller or even just starting. He hopes to stimulate interest and increase involvement through the equipment show, he said.

The chapters travel to many events throughout the year, Robinson said. He said they might travel to competitions or shows or career development events.

He said if people want to contribute to their local FFA chapter to help with travel expenses and to help train future agricultural producers it would be greatly appreciated. He said interested people can contact their local schools to find out whom to talk to about contributions.
