KALISPELL Gilman "Gil" Lieberg, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at a Kalispell hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Community United Methodist Church of Bigfork with the Rev. Jan Witman officiating. Cremation will follow the ceremony.

Lieberg was born June 11, 1916, in Wheelock, N.D., to Alfred and Anna Lieberg. He joined the CCC's in Calico Rock, Ark. He moved to Williston, N.D., in 1944. He went to work for the Great Northern and BNSF Railway in May of 1944.

On Aug. 21, 1944, he married Jean Schneider. The couple moved to Havre in 1958, where he worked for the railroad until his retirement in 1976.

Lieberg enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of Bigfork; sons, Richard of Havre, Jerald of Friend, Neb., and Robert of Burlington, Iowa; a daughter, Mary Louise Frampton of Arden Hills, Minn.; a brother, Art of Laramore, N.D.; and a sister, Beatrice Viall of Ray, N.D.

Memorials are suggested to the Bigfork QRU or to the charity of a donor's choice.

Bigfork Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
