LAME DEER Regina Pease, 86, of Lame Deer and formerly of Billings, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at a Billings hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Church of Christ in Billings. Cremation followed. A private interment will follow at a later date.
Pease was born April 6, 1913, in Florence, to Maximillion Couture and Nellie Abbott Parker. She was raised in the Missoula area and received some of her education there.
She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1931.
In 1937, she married Reginald Skenandore in Chadron, Neb. He died in 1942. She resided in Wisconsin and worked in the Green Bay shipyards as a welder during WWII and returned to Browning in 1946.
On June 6, 1949, she married Oliver Pease in Billings. The couple resided in Montana, Utah, North Dakota and Washington where he was a teacher. She was employed for the schools as a bookkeeper or secretary. The couple moved to Billings in 1980, and to Lame Deer in 1999.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, spinning wool and bowling. She also enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in basketball and football games.
She was a Christian throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Lyle Rasmussen, a sister, Dorthea Severtson and a daughter, Shirley Ann Zahno.
Survivors include her husband of Lame Deer; sons, Rodney Skenandore of St. Joseph, Mo., Richard Pease of Newtown, N.D. and Samuel and his wife Carmen Pease of Havre; daughters, Olivia Sierra of Kyle, S.D., Claudia Walks Along of Lame Deer and Cynthia Pease of Beaverton, Ore.; a grandson whom she raised, Strong Pease; 26 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
Bullis Mortuary of Hardin is in charge of arrangements.
