One of the best things about winter in Montana is high school sports. Divisional and state tournaments are the highlight of these winter games. Both the Blue Pony wrestling team and Havre High boys' basketball team have reason to be proud. The wrestling team just finished placing second at the state tournament and the boys' hoop team earned a trip to the state tournament this last weekend. Along with the state champion swimmers and the speech squads, all have upheld a proud tradition of Havre High competitors.
Havre High students are known all over the state for their knack for coming up big at tournament time. The consistency Havre High teams have traditionally displayed is a credit to the community support they receive all year long. Congratulations to those teams who have finished their seasons, and good luck to the boys in Billings this weekend.
Last weekend Montana State University-Northern wrestlers upheld their own proud tradition, by winning the NAIA divisional tournament for the third straight year. Congratulations to Coach David Ray and his team, and good luck at Nationals.
You don't have to follow the Blue Ponies to Billings this weekend to watch some great high school basketball. Havre High is once again hosting the 9C basketball tournament this week. For the people of Havre and the Hi-Line area, the tournament offers the opportunity to watch basketball talent from our neighboring communities. We would like to welcome all of the teams and their fans to Havre.
Good Luck and enjoy your time in Havre.
