KG, Chester spikers pick up conference wins

The Chester Coyotes remained undefeated in volleyball action with a 15-4, 15-2, 15-9 win over the J-I Rams on Wednesday.

Carlane Jensen had 11 kills to lead Chester, while Michele Van Dyke chipped in eight in the win.

Angela Peek notched 13 for J-I.

Katy Engstrom and Van Dyke had nine digs apiece for the Coyotes, who improved to 13-0 on the year.

Engstrom also had five aces in the win.

Laine Lybeck, Kari Tempel and Michelle Adams had one ace apiece for J-I.

The KG KouGars, who are even in league play with J-I, defeated the Rams 17-15, 15-11, 15-3, 15-13 on Wednesday.

Kim Berg had 18 kills to lead the KouGars.

Ashley Melby tallied 31 assists for KG.

Jen Siefert had 11 blocks and 13 digs, while Kristin Preeshl had a team-high 15 digs in the match.

Abbie Toner had 13 digs for KG.

Lybeck tallied five aces to lead the Rams. She also had four saves in the match.

Peek had five blocks, 10 kills, and six saves.

Tempel had seven assists for the Rams.
