The Chester Coyotes upheld their perfect regular-season record with a perfect District 5 finish.
The top-seeded Coyotes defeated the second-seeded Sunburst Refiners 15-0, 15-8, 15-5 and landed a first-place district trophy.
Five-foot-10 sophomore Michele Van Dyke had 10 kills and five blocks to lead Chester, while Jamie Graham backed her up with 27 assists and three aces.
Defensively, Carlane Jensen had 14 of the team's 51 digs.
Jerri Ahrens had seven kills to lead Sunburst, who finished second at the tournament. Both teams will advance to the Northern Divisional.
Chester had defeated Sunburst 15-2, 15-6, 15-3 in semifinal action to advance to the first-place finish.
Sunburst defeated the KG KouGars 15-12, 15-7, 15-8 to advance to the championship round.
KG finished third at the tournament, but will not earn a berth to the divisional tournament. Only two teams advanced from District 5.
Jen Siefert led the KouGar attack with seven kills, aided by Ashley Melby with 24 assists.
Kristin Preeshl had five blocks and Kim Berg had 10 digs to lead the KouGars.
Carly Kleinert had 12 kills and Ahrens tallied three blocks to lead Sunburst.
KG overcame a two-game deficit and defeated Big Sandy 9-15, 12-15, 15-12, 15-10, 15-11 Saturday morning.
Preeshl had seven kills in the win. Melby notched 27 assists, Siefert had nine blocks, and Berg had 10 digs in the match.
Senior Tamara Davis led Big Sandy with 10 kills, four blocks, and 12 digs.
Senior Jennifer Curl had 20 assists and senior Eryn Darlington had five aces in the match.
Dutton/Brady placed first at the District 6 volleyball tournament, held at Centerville High School. Valier finished second and Power finished third. All three teams will advance to the Northern Divisional.
Harlowton placed first at the District 7 tournament with a 15-10, 15-6, 15-6 win over host Stanford. Stanford will enter the Northern Divisional in second place and Denton will be the No. 3 seed.
The tournament will be held at Chester High School March 9-11.
