DENNIS PETERSON: Obituary

BILLINGS Dennis Wayne Peterson, 70, Billings, died Friday, March 31, 2000 at his home after an extended illness.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at American Lutheran Church in Billings. Cremation with interment of ashes will be at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.

Peterson was born March 6, 1930 in Clearbrook, Minn. to Benjamin Alvin and Ellen Amelia Asplund Peterson. The family moved to Duluth, Minn. when Peterson was young and he attended school there. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1948.

Peterson moved to Havre following graduation and began his 42-year career with Valley Motor Supply Company, Motor Parts Warehouse in outside sales and management. He transferred to Billings in 1953.

Peterson married Beverly Olson on July 1, 1950 at First Lutheran Church in Havre. He was an active member of American Lutheran Church in Billings, served on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Billings and Yellowstone County, and was on the Board of Directors of Associated Industries.

Peterson was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of Billings; son, Paul of Madison, Wis.; daughter Diane of Charles City, Iowa; sister, Lois Savely of San Diego, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Emma Davis and Lucy Peterson of Duluth, and Margelaine Matzke of Havre; brothers-in-law Marlan Olson of Malta and Gary Olson of Chinook; four grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be made to American Lutheran Church or Northern Rockies Cancer Center, 1041 N. 29th St., Billings.
