There's a new tenant in the old First Street location of the Havre Job Service.
Ron Lorang, owner and operator of Finest Boot Repair, has moved his business from his old location at 124 Fourth Avenue into the 416 First Street location.
" A half block east," he said "It has more room, lets me expand a little bit."
Lorang offers a full line of shoe and boot care, including polish, grease, waterproofer and more. He also carries zippers and other accessories, and Red Wing, Whites, Cowtown and Wilson farm and ranch boots and steel toe work boots.
He said he is also picking up the line of Hi-Tec Sports, which should be in stock by the end of the summer.
Lorang also repairs items in his shop. He said he'll repair most anything that has something wrong with it, as long as it's feasible.
Along with shoe and boot repair, he fixes backpacks, coats and jackets, installs zippers, and more.
"Just about what comes in the door," he said.
He said just about the only thing he doesn't work with is canvas items.
Lorang said it took about a month to remodel the office for his business. There are now displays along the east wall of the building, with accessories on the west side and the repair center in the back.
He said he likes his new location.
"This is nice," he said. "It has the back windows, get a sunbeam in here."
Lorang opened his business in Big Sandy in 1987, and moved to Havre in 1988. He said he's done pretty good business in Havre.
"Enough to move from over there to here," he said about his new location.
He said he appreciates his customers for their past patronage and looks forward to their future business in his new location.
