College athletic programs can attract more than athletes and the MSU-Northern Lights wrestling program has proven that point.
Becky Griggs, a senior at Choteau High School, has signed a national letter of intent to keep stats for the Lights wrestling team next winter, announced head coach David Ray.
"She was a statistician for the Choteau wrestling team all four years in high school," Ray said. "She wanted to attend college but still be involved with wrestling. With Northern having the only college wrestling program in the state, it helped us bring another student to the college."
Griggs is the daughter of T. Jerry and Gloria Griggs of Pendroy.
She plans to major in business and minor in diesel at Northern.
