LARRY STEINMETZ: Obituary

GREELEY, Colo. Larry Don Steinmetz, 48, died at his home in Greeley, Colo. on Wednesday, April 5, 2000 of cancer.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Congregational Church in Greeley.

Steinmetz was born Sept. 22, 1951 in Havre to Donald Grant Steinmetz and Lorraine Norma (Erickson) Steinmetz. He attended Pacific University School of Optometry in Forest Grove, Ore.

Steinmetz has lived in Greeley since 1975 after residing in Chinook, Rudyard, Malta, Havre and Forest Grove. He and his partner Mary Freitag owned and operated Vision Clinic at Fox Hill where he was an optometrist.

Steinmetz married Babs J. Julseth on Jan. 17, 1981 in Greeley.

He attended the First Congregational Church of Greeley and enjoyed camping, hiking and running for physical fitness. He was involved with his family, children's activities, and his church community. He was concerned with the future of the world environmentally, socially and politically. He loved his career and cars and was proud of his Montana heritage.

Steinmetz was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Babs Steinmetz of Greeley; mother, Lorraine Norma Steinmetz of Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughter, Lindsay Steinmetz of Greeley; son, Parker Steinmetz of Greeley; sisters, Mary Grant of Glenrock, Wyo., Amy Harrison of Cheyenne, and Linda Knutson of Manhattan.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Northern Colorado or to First Congregational Church in care of the Macy Chapel.
