David Jay Evans, Jr., 36, Havre, died Saturday, April 8, 2000. Cause of death has not been determined.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at the First Lutheran Church with Pastor Walt Kirkegaard officiating.
Evans was born Aug. 7, 1963 in Havre to David J. Sr. and Annye Ruth (Graham) Evans. He attended schools in Havre, graduating from Havre High School in 1982. He attended Northern Montana College and the International Air Academy in Vancouver, Wash.
Evans graduated from the air academy Nov. 20, 1984 and went to work for Continental Airlines in Denver, where he worked for 11 years. In 1995, he retired from Continental and married Lori Peregil on June 4, 1995. The couple moved to Heleiwa, Hawaii, where they made their home.
Evans worked for the Turtle Bay Hilton in Heleiwa for three years. He moved back to Havre in 1998 and worked as the manager for the Super 8 Motel.
Evans enjoyed his family and animals, especially his cockatiel, Kinowa. He was an avid Denver Broncos and Avalanche fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. He loved the mountains and the family cabin. He liked motorcycles and music.
Evans was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Lori; stepson, Sean; and stepdaughter, Celeste, all of Heleiwa; his parents; two brothers, Brian Evans of Havre and Curtis Evans of Seattle, Wash., numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and pets.
Memorials may be made to one's choice.
