HOGELAND Louis A. Modic, Jr., 74, Turner, died Monday, April 10, 2000 at a Billings hospital from an apparent heart attack he suffered on April 7.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in Edward Funeral Home Chapel with Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Turner High School Gymnasium. Burial will follow at the Harlem Cemetery.
Modic was born on the family farm south of Hogeland on Oct. 28, 1925. He attended grade school at Cherry Patch and graduated from Chinook High School. He started farming at the family farm on the Big Flat and continued until his death.
Modic married Della Booth on Oct. 5, 1949 in Harlem.
Farming and his family were his life.
Modic was preceded in death by his wife, Della, on April 4, 2000; his parents; sons, Lenny and Danny Modic; brother, Ralph Modic; and sister, Ruth Mellett.
Survivors include a son, Sonny Modic of Hogeland; daughters Belinda Kobelka of New Jersey, Tina Carmichael of Helena, Brenda Drugge of Chinook, Conita Conlan of Hogeland; sisters, Rose Lynch of Helena, Rebena Sheppard of Forrest Grove, Ore., Dorothy McGowen of West Port, Wash.; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Turner Ambulance.
Arrangements are by Edward Funeral Home of Chinook.
