Northern riders host rodeo

The MSU-Northern rodeo team will host its third-straight seven-school rodeo Saturday and Sunday at the fairgrounds in Havre.

Northern, MSU-Bozeman, Western Montana College, Miles Community College, Northwest Community College, Dawson Community College, and the University of Montana will participate in the event.

Josh Bebee, Jamee Clark, Chris Danreuther, Mark Fisher, Joe Gunderson, Tanya Simmons, Mindy Henderson, Cody Waldusky, Jaley Wacker, Ty Aaberg, Wayne Brown, Jason Terry, and Dan Warner comprise Northern's team.

Bebee is a Havre native who should look to be tough in the bull riding event.

Clark is also a Havre native who shines in team roping and breakaway. She will team with Wacker in the roping event.

Wacker will also team with Jason Terry in team roping. She was a three-year state finalist in breakaway, and the crowd will get to see her in action this weekend in the event.

Danreuther is a senior from Fort Benton and will be riding bareback this weekend.

Fisher, a junior from Kalispell, will also be riding bareback.

Gunderson, a sophomore from Great Falls, will be on the bulls. He was a two-time high school rodeo qualifier in and a Carpenter Winter Series Champion.

Simmons is a senior from Lewistown. A state placer in high school, Simmons will participate in goat tying.

Henderson, another Lewistown native, will participate in goat tying and breakaway. She was a state qualifier in goat tying in high school.

Waldusky will team with Warner and Terry in the team roping event, while Aaberg will ride bulls and Brown will ride bareback.

The main performance will take place at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds arena on Saturday.

Sunday, the slack performance will begin at 9 a.m. in the Bigger, Better, Barn.

The short-go will take place about one hour after the slack ends, at approximately 1 p.m.

All timed events will be at the Bigger, Better, Barn, while the rough stock will take place at the fairgrounds arena both days.

Prices for the event are as follows: $4 adults and high school; $3 junior high; ages 10 and under free if accompanied by an adult, Northern students with valid pass are free.

Concessions will be available.
