The Regional Juvenile Detention Board Wednesday met in Great Falls and talked about their regional budgets for juvenile detention centers.
The regional board got together to talk about the regional budget for juvenile detention.
"The state allocates so many dollars based on our juvenile detention population," Hill County Commissioner Doug Kaercher said. "Each County or district submits a budget request and we make sure it fits in the dollars allocated. We got a certain amount of dollars and we have to make them fit."
There will be a state meeting May 18 in Helena that will bring all of the regions chairs together to set the state budget for juvenile detention centers, he said.
Some of the topics covered at the meeting were:
Election of new officers. Kaercher was elected chair of the regional board;
Donna Young - Advisor for Montana Board of Crime Control, acted as a advisor for the meeting;
update on Low Side Detention Project;
Budget proposals.
