Chester girls take Cut Bank quad

The Chester Coyotes girls' track team won the Cut Bank quadrangular with 109 points on Wednesday.

The boys finished in second place with 92 points.

Maci Tempel won the 400 meters with a time of 63.6. She placed second in e 200 with a time of 28.46.

Teammate Michele Van Dyke won the 800 meters with a time of 2:38.48. Katy Engstrom placed second in the race in two minutes 39 seconds.

Van Dyke also set a personal-best jump in the high jump at 5-6 1/2. She leads the state in the girls' high jump.

Debbie Brown won the 3,200 meter run with a time of 13:38.01. She placed second in the 1,600 with a time of 6:03.7.

Carlane Jensen tossed the shot put 32 feet 10 inches and placed first in the event.

The Chester girls won the 1,600-meter relay with a time of 4:25.58.

On the boys' side, Jeff Graham won the 400 with a time of 52.53.

Zeb Engstrom placed second in the 110 hurdles, clocking in at 16.79.
