With 10 seniors on board, the bulk of the Havre Blue Pony tennis team will be playing their final home matches of their careers Saturday, when they host Cut Bank and Conrad in dual action.
"This will be a last chance for the community to come and see our seniors play at home," Havre head coach Sam Dierman said.
Nos. 1-4 girls' singles players Teri Sherrill, Lauren Malone, Crystal Heggen, Nichole Borst and doubles' players Kirsten Kuka, Tiffany Shrauger, and Jana McPherson are all seniors.
Boys' Nos. 1 and 2 players Kellen Malone and Nick Heninger, and doubles' player Levi LaPrath are the senior boys.
The boys, who have not lost against Cut Bank or Conrad this season, are favored to win again this weekend.
Some good matches could be seen between the Havre girls and Conrad.
With just two weeks until divisional, the Blue Ponies will have the opportunity to play the best 2-out-of-3 this weekend, which is the format used during the tournaments.
"This will be good so we can get in the practice of it," Dierman said about the format. "I think the kids are peaking at the right time."
The Blue Ponies are coming off a dual with Chinook, which primed the team for this weekend's action.
"We'll be looking for an intense level of play," Dierman said.
The Ponies will open against Cut Bank at 8 a.m., and they are slated to dual Conrad around 2 p.m. at the high school courts.
