MSU-Northern's Turk Lords received the AAU Little Sullivan award last week which goes to the most outstanding male athlete in the state of Montana.
Lords, who has dominated the NAIA ranks for the past three years for MSU-Northern, was very pleased to receive this honor.
Beating out three other very talented finalists that included University of Montana football standout Dallas Neil and Laurel football's Vince Henman.
Turk Lords will be in search of his fourth individual national title, and fourth-straight team title next year. Only a junior, Lords has compiled a 92-8 record. He has not only defeated the top wrestlers at his own weight, but he has also thumped the 1999 and 2000 heavyweight national champion at the NAIA and junior college level.
Lords has become one of Montana's greatest wrestlers of all time, but is not content with that. He still feels he has a lot to acomplish in the sport of wrestling.
The Little Sullivan award is voted on by the USAW, AAU, coaches, and media around Montana.
