The Northstars double dipped at Great Falls versus the Stallions Saturday afternoon.
In both games, the Northstars' Ricky Brown and David Heberly each went deep over the fence to lead the Northstars to a 10-7 victory. They followed up by a thrashing of the Stallions, 22-9, in the second game of the double header.
The Northstars battled the Medicine Hat Knights in two seven-inning games Sunday afternoon at Legion Field.
In game one, the Knights jumped on the Northstars by scoring two first-inning runs, but the Northstars responded by scoring two runs in their half of the inning.
The Knights broke the game open in the second inning capped off by A. J. Howes' three-run homerun to give Medicine Hat a 7-2 lead.
The Northstars chipped away at the Knights' lead throughout the game, finally tying the score at 8-8 in the bottom of the seventh with a two run double by David Knight. Garrett Hanson and Kyle Sheppard scored.
But, in the ninth inning, the Knights scored five runs to put away the Northstars, 13-8.
The two teams had another game in the second half of the double header.
In the second inning, the Northstars got on the board first with an RBI single by Sheppard, followed by a hit scoring Knight.
Havre added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Hanson's RBI single added one run and Knights pitcher Howes added the second run with a wild pitch.
The Knights put together three runs on two hits in the sixth inning.
In the top of the seventh, the Knights loaded up the bases.
With zero outs, the Knights' Skyler Stromsoe came to the plate. Stromsoe ripped a shot that was snagged out of the air by third baseman Heberly, who tagged third for the unassisted double play. One batter later, Howes grounded out to give the Northstars a 4-3 win.
