The Class A and underclassmen were represented well on the boys' side at the Montana All-Star Invitational golf tournament held at the Valley View Golf Club in Bozeman on Friday.
Nick Obie of Havre fired a 141 and placed second. The sophomore shot a 70-71 on the 36 holes, and finished runner-up behind freshman Colt VanDewerker of Billings Central, who tied the course record for the meet with a 140.
Havre's Lisa Wagner, a senior, fired a 92-50-142 on the course. The final nine holes were cancelled due to rain.
Junior Megan McDonald of Bozeman fired a 76-40-116 and upset defending champion Brianne Woods of Laurel for the girls' title.
The top two finishers from Classes AA-A-B-C were invited to play at the tournament.
Four at-large spots were also filled with some third-place state finishers. Nine boys and 11 girls participated.
Obie placed second at the state Class A golf meet, while Polson's Jeff Dooley took the gold.
Dooley fired a 77-81-158 and finished seventh at the all-star tournament.
Wagner placed third at state behind Woods and Amber Griffith of Miles City. Griffith placed third at the all-star meet, shooting an 82-42-124.
Class A Havre, Class AA C.M. Russell, and Class C St. Regis sent both a boy and a girl, while Class A Miles City sent two girls to the meet.
