Ryan Hills voice makes it to TV

Ryan Hill of Havre is scheduled to appear on Cartoon Network this Sunday, or at least his voice is.

The 14-year-old Hill, son of Jon and Yvonne Hill, received a call Tuesday to record a conversation to broadcast on the network.

Hill's request for a cartoon to be shown on the national cable network's "JBVO" cartoon request show was chosen to be featured on the program. The show is "hosted" by the Hanna-Barbera cartoon character Johnny Bravo.

Hill said he mailed a postcard to the network describing an episode of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon "Dexter's Laboratory" about two weeks ago. He said Alyssa Bass of Cartoon Network called him back to tell him he had been chosen to be featured out of requests numbering more than 100,000 a day. She told him when he would receive a call to be interviewed for the show.

Hill said he received a call from Johnny Bravo at 5 p.m. Tuesday. He said the conversation lasted about 10 minutes, with Bravo asking him questions such as whether he "liked chicks and stuff, of course," and who his favorite cartoon character was. Hill said his favorite character is Johnny Bravo, of course, to which the host replied "Did you ever have a doubt?"

Hill said he's both excited and nervous about being selected.

"I'm just kind of nervous, you know, to be on TV," he said, "even though it's just my voice. It's kind of neat."

Hill said he is scheduled to be on this Sunday's episode, June 18. The program airs on Cartoon Network at 9 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
