The Havre Northstars split two games with the Vauxhall Spurs at Legion Field on Wednesday afternoon.
In game one, the Northstars put themselves in a 6-2 hole after three innings and struggled to cut into the Spurs' lead.
The Spurs added four seventh-inning runs to seemingly close the door on the Northstars, 10-2.
But the Northstars rallied. With the bases loaded, Jordan Anderson singled in C.J. Reichelt for the Northstars' first seventh-inning run. Ricky Brown was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Jared Boyce walked to cut the Spurs' lead in half at 10-5.
A Spurs' error scored the Northstars' next run, and Dave Heberly's single brought in two more Northstars to pull the team within two runs at 10-8.
But with two on and two outs, Reichelt struck out in his second at-bat of the inning to give the Spurs game one, 10-8.
In game two, the Spurs got on the board first when Tyler Smith tripled in Rory Brown from first base.
The Northstars answered in their half of the third inning. Anderson sacrificed in David Knight from third base to tie things up, 1-1.
In the fourth inning, the Northstars took their first lead of the night. Dan Danielson singled in Reichelt for the 2-1 lead.
In the top of the sixth inning, the Spurs were able to tie things back up when Ryan Smith scored from third base on a pitch that deflected off the front of the plate and over the catcher's head.
In the bottom half of the sixth inning, the Northstars took the lead for good.
Seven-of-nine Northstars' batters crossed home plate, highlighted by Anderson's three-run, in the park, home run. Jared Boyce went 2-for-2 in the sixth inning with two triples and an RBI to help the Northstars win game two, 11-2.
The Northstars' next game will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Legion Field.
