Judge John Warner accepted guilty pleas and handed down sentences in several cases in 12th Judicial District Court here during September.
Kermit Lee Morsette Jr., 18, Box Elder, was given a 3-year deferred imposition of sentence on Aug. 28 with conditions set down in his presentence investigation. Morsette pleaded guilty June 30 to felony theft stemming from the theft of a Ford van from a Highland Park residence on Feb. 29. He wrecked the van on U.S. Highway 87 south of Havre. Morsette also must pay $75 restitution per month.
Jeremy Larson, aka Shorty, 22, Havre, admitted committing five violations of his conditions of release, including four misdemeanor crimes. The judge revoked the suspended sentence he had for possession of dangerous drugs in June 1997 and sentenced him to three years with the Department of Corrections. The judge gave Larson credit for 516 days already served.
Yvette Margaret Nalder, 28, Havre, on Sept. 7 was given a 2-year-6-month deferred imposition of sentence. Nalder pleaded guilty June 30 to felony tampering with evidence for a drug incident at a Second Street Havre home on Jan. 21. She was released on conditions set down in her presentence investigation.
Marlin Jacob Lightfoot, 23, Havre, was sentenced Sept. 11 to four years with the Department of Corrections with credit for 94 days already served. Lightfoot's 4-year probation on a fourth offense felony charge of driving under the influence of alcohol was revoked for violations of conditions of his release. Lightfoot had pleaded guilty to the DUI charge in May 1999. Lightfoot's lawyer said he planned to appeal the sentence and asked for Lightfoot's release on bail. Bail was denied.
Michael James Frank, 24, Havre, pleaded guilty Sept. 13 to having sexual intercourse without consent. He admitted that on or about Jan. 1 or Jan. 8, he had sex with a 13-year-old girl in Havre. The judge ordered a presentence investigation and ordered Frank to undergo a psycho sexual evaluation. Sentencing was set for 9 a.m. Nov. 15. The penalty for the offense is between 2 and 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000 plus a $20 prosecution fee, $10 domestic violence fee, and $5 surcharge.
Seth A. Reeder Davis, 18, Havre, pleaded guilty Sept. 13 to misdemeanor theft for an incident that occurred on West 11th Street June 30. Davis was given a 1-year deferred imposition of sentence with credit for 76 days served. The judge order Davis to be released from jail in time to catch a train to Washington state.
Ronnie Lee Reynolds, 45, Havre, was sentenced in September to 13 months with the Department of Corrections plus two years probation on a felony DUI charge. The judge recommended an appropriate facility and gave Reynolds credit for 45 days served. Reynolds pleaded guilty earlier to fourth offense DUI for an incident north of Havre in May. He also was given two 6-month sentences on separate charges of driving while his driver's license was suspended. Those sentences were to run concurrent with the felony sentence.
Scobey G. Baker, 24, Wolf Point, admitted seven violations of his conditions of release on Sept. 14. He was serving a suspended sentence for a Jan 20 burglary he pleaded guilty to March 31. Disposition of his case was scheduled for 11 a.m. on Oct. 11.
Jacquelynn Marie Rencurel, 32, Havre, was given a 3-year-deferred imposition of sentence and ordered to comply with conditions set down in the presentence investigation. Rencurel had pleaded guilty earlier to criminal possession of dangerous drugs (methamphetamines) in Havre on Jan. 19.
Casey Owens Mummy, 19, Havre, admitted six violations of his conditions of release on theft and assault convictions. The crimes occurred in June 1999. His violations included five incidents of alcohol consumption and one of resisting arrest. Mummy was ordered to take an inpatient chemical dependency treatment, remain law-abiding, and abide by his conditions of release.
