VanValkenburg fund-raiser continues

By Crystal Thompson

Paula Adams, Independent Sales Representative for the Pampered Chef®, would like to remind everyone that there is still time to purchase cookbooks for a good cause.

With the help of several area businesses, Adams has been selling Pampered Chef® cookbooks to help raise money for Havre resident Wilma VanValkenburg, who suffers from Membranous Nephropathy.

VanValkenburg was diagnosed with this Membranous Nephropathy, a kidney disease which can lead to kidney transplant, in January of this year. Since then, she has undergone treatments, blood work and has taken numerous medications, many of which have made her ill. Currently VanValkenburg's medical expenses come to more than $1,000 each month.

Two cookbooks are available from the Pampered Chef®, "Recipes from the Heart" and "The Kitchen is the Heart of the Home", at $10 each. Some area businesses have a sign up sheet for ordering cookbooks, or they can be ordered directly from Adams. A donation account has also been set up for VanValkenburg at Independence Bank in Havre.

To order a book from Paula Adams, send check or money order to: P.O. Box 246, Havre, MT 59501. Any questions about the fund-raiser can be directed to Adams as well, at 265-3626.

Adams said that she would like to thank everyone who has already ordered cookbooks, and would like to encourage those who haven't to place their orders to help VanValkenburg's cause. The deadline for the cookbook fund-raiser is Nov. 15.
