TURNER Patrick D. Doyle, 59, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000 at his home in Turner due to pancreatic cancer.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Turner High School Gymnasium with burial with military honors at Turner Cemetery.
Doyle was born Sept. 15, 1941 in Carrington, N.D. to Pat and Ethel (Janow) Doyle. He received his education in Turner and graduated from Turner High School.
Doyle joined the U.S. Army and served from 1959 to 1962. He attended Northrup Institute of Technology and received his aircraft maintenance certificate. He received his private and commercial pilot's licenses from Hensley Flying Service in Havre. He earned his instrument, multi-engine and certified flight instructor's certificate from Gillis Aviation in Billings.
Doyle began aerial spraying in Montana. In 1965, he was aerial spraying in Arkansas and met Gail Russell from Boydell, Ark. They married in October of 1968.
Over the next 30 years, Doyle continued to spray in Montana, Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, Washington and South Dakota. As a certified flight instructor, he began his first flight ground school in Turner in 1967. His most recent students received their private pilot's licenses in 1996. He most recently founded an aircraft maintenance shop in Havre known as Aero Tech.
Doyle was a past director of the Montana Aviation Trades Association. He was a member Blaine County II Ambulance since 1989.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Doyle, who died in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Doyle of Turner; sons, Jerod Doyle of Minot, N.D. and Jeffrey Doyle of Turner; parents, Pat and Ethel Doyle of Turner; sisters, Carol Malloy of Santa Clarita, Calif., Sandi Thompson of Renton, Wash. and Mikel Ann Doyle of Auburn, Wash.; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
