Staff from Kitty Keepers is teaming up with the Hill County Tavern Association (HCTA) to help with some of the shopping from the Salvation Army's Angel Trees.
The Kitty Keepers staff will pick up remaining names from the trees, and HCTA will provide the cash to shop for the needy children, Penney Bergren, who is with both Kitty Keepers and HCTA, said.
Jupe Comptom, president of HCTA, said they will pick up as many remaining names as their budget will allow, hopefully all of them, if possible.
He said HCTA has been doing this for three or four years now, just to help out a little bit.
"The Kitty Keepers are doing all the work this year, though," he said. Compton said they will be doing all of the shopping and wrapping, which is the hard part.
Bergren said the trees are supposed to be done at 5 p.m. today, but The Salvation Army has agreed to let them drop their gifts off on Tuesday. She said they offered to drop the gifts off right at the collection point so The Salvation Army won't have to collect them, and The Salvation Army agreed.
The shoppers will go out to the Havre Big Kmart tomorrow at 9 a.m. and start filling the Angle Tree items, Bergren said.
