District 5 volleyball is back into full swing, with the Blue Sky Eagles and Box Elder Bears collecting wins on Wednesday.
Blue Sky defeated Rocky Boy 15-5, 15-11, 15-13 in conference play.
Monica Groth tallied four aces to lead the Eagles, and Cassidy Han joined Groth in kills. The duo combined for 12 of the team's 25 kills in the contest.
Natalie Strissel had seven assists in the win.
Lauren Corcoran collected all five of the Rocky Boy assists, while Autumn Wright had five kills for naught in the loss.
Desi Sutherland notched 11 assists in the effort.
Box Elder then handed Big Sandy a 9-15, 15-12, 15-10, 15-7 loss.
Tessie LaMere had six aces in the win for Box Elder. Ashley Raining Bird had eight assists and she and LaMere combined for 10 digs in the win.
At Joplin, the Rams fell to the Dutton Cardinals 15-3, 15-13, 15-8 in non-conference play.
Laine Lybeck, a freshman for the Rams, smoked eight aces to lead the Rams.
Senior Angela Peek had two blocks and seven kills for J-I. She also had a team-high 16 digs in the match.
Kari Tempel and Lybeck shared assist responsibilities, collecting nine and eight, respectively.
