Mondays are busy this month at Oakwood Village in the 1800 block of First Street Northeast in Havre.
The coffee hour from 11 a.m. to noon each Monday in apartment D-20 is a chance for area parents to get together and visit. They can share their parenting concerns with other parents and to regroup after the weekend while their children have a supervised play time.
Parents attending the coffee hour are welcome to bring their handiwork along. For more information, call Krista at 265-6206 or Laura at 265-9619.
Three new programs for kids and parents, including a program designed to put parents of teen-agers back in charge, get under way for the first time next Monday.
A nurturing class under the auspices of the Hill County Health Department begins next Monday at 6:15 p.m. To register, call the health department at 265-5481 ext. 66.
The class is for the parents of young children and is intended to promote healthy family relationships. Childcare will be provided.
The "Who's In Charge At Your House?" sessions with Dr. Kedric Cecil are limited to 15 participants. Those interested in attending the 4-part workshop are encouraged to sign up early to reserve their spot.
Dr. Cecil will teach new and innovative techniques for putting parents back in the driver's seat with their teens during the 2-hour sessions at the Masonic Temple Building, 305 Third Ave. The free parenting classes will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. the four remaining Mondays in January in Suite 212.
On Saturday, Jan. 8 and 15, two Oakwood residents will put on computers 101 classes in apartment D-20. The classes will run from 10 to noon with Kristie and Jackie teaching a computer class for HRDC's Model Office.
The course will cover mouse basics, opening and closing programs, and basic word processing.

Another continuing program at Oakwood and Havre-Hill County Library is Story Hour for younger children. Story Hour is held at 3:30 p.m. every Thursday in Oakwood Village apartment D-20. The library's Story Hour is held at 10:15 a.m. every Wednesday.
Both Story Hours are held under the auspices of Havre-Hill County Library, H.E.L.P.'s Drug-Free Community Grant, and Havre Public Schools.
The Lincoln-McKinley Elementary School Latch-key program will be held in the school at the end of the school day each Thursday. Susan McDaniel of the Hill County Extension Office will teach Mr. Popcorn each week. Children will learn to prepare healthy meals and snacks.

Tot Time, held at Havre Head Start every Friday from 1:30 to 3 p.m. is a play group for children from birth to 5. Tot Time is intended as a time for children and parents to get out and socialize. Everyone is welcome.
