IDA (DOLLY) MCCORMICK
JOPLIN -- Ida (Dolly) Marie McCormick, 73, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at her residence of heart failure.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bethel Lutheran Church at Joplin with burial following at 3 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Havre.
McCormick was born Oct. 17, 1926, south of Gildford, to Peder and Anna (Pederson) Mork. She attended schools in the area and graduated from Gildford High School in 1945.
vOn Dec. 9, 1946, she married William McCormick at Havre. The couple resided in Joplin where she was a housewife. She also was a cook at the public school from 1966 until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed fixing lefsa, baking cookies, and making meals for her family. She was Norwegian and kept in close contact with her relatives and traveled to Norway for a visit. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening, doing crosswords and playing board games with her grandchildren.
McCormick was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church where she was active in quilting. She had been active in the community fund drive for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, children, Mavis Olson and Denise Tempel, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Mlinar of San Diego, Calif.; sons, Russ McCormick of Stevensville and Bill McCormick of Billings; sister, Bertha Anderson of Libby; a nephew; and 10 grandchildren.
Rockman Funeral Chapel of Chester is in charge of arrangements.
