Dr. Kirk Miller was offered a one-year extension of his contract as Superintendent of Public Schools at the Board of Trustees meeting on Jan. 11.

The board voted unanimously to offer a new contract beginning July 1, 2000 and ending June 30, 2002. Miller is currently in the second year of a three-year contract ending June 30, 2001.

The new contract includes a 4 percent salary increase in the first year of the contract and a 3 percent increase in the second year.

The contract also includes participation in the Family Education Savings Program, with the district contributing $3,600 annually for Miller's children.

Under the new contract, the district will purchase disability insurance for Miller.
