Chinook and Big Sandy were in Harlem last weekend for the Harlem Wildcat wrestling tournament. Malta took home the top crown. Chinook finished fifth and Big Sandy finished sixth.
For the Sugarbeeters, they had one champion in Josh Miller, who pinned his opponent at the 5:40 mark. Also for Chinook in the championship round at 152 pounds, was Kyle Butcher, who fell in a 10-4 decision.
In consolation matches, Ben Parsons (119) fell in a 12-0 decision.
At 130 pounds, Will Hougen won his match in a 10-9 decision. Finally, at 160 pounds, Thomas Brown was pinned at the 3:22 mark.
For Big Sandy, they placed two wrestlers in the finals. At 140 pounds, Mace Mangold won his weight class with a 1-0 decision. At 145 pounds, Pioneer Lance Nelson was brutal in his match as he won by injury default.
In the consolation rounds for the Pioneers, at 160 pounds, Lance Zaparynuk pinned Brown of Chinook at the 3:22 mark.
The teams have one more weekend of wrestling before the divisional tournament. Chinook and Big Sandy will be wrestling in the Malta Tournament this weekend.
Chester teamed with Valier at the Conrad Duals last weekend.
On Friday at the duals, Chester-Valier fell to Choteau, 45-28. Against Cut Bank, the Wolves won a 57-18 decision over the combined teams.
On Saturday the team of Chester-Valier wrestled once and fell to Cascade, 44-24.
