FRANCES KNUDSON Obituary

Frances Anne Knudson, 66, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at a local hospital due to a long term illness of heart failure.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kathy Young officiating.

Knudson was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Concord, N.C. to David and Fannie Mae (Garmon) Dease. She attended schools in Concord graduating from high school.

In 1953, she married Stan Knudson in Concord. The couple resided at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia where he was stationed. After his discharge in 1954, the family moved to Havre. They purchased a farm north of Havre where they resided and another farm west of Havre in 1961, where they farmed. The couple later divorced.

While being involved in the family business Knudson also donated her time to Sunday School teaching at the First Presbyterian Church, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, she also worked at Buttrey's and city hall.

She was a member of the Eastern Star. She also worked at various companies in Havre before she established Lucille's Dress Shop in the eighties until her retirement in 1993 due to illness.

She enjoyed traveling, sewing, bird and wildlife watching, cooking for her family and designing and planting flower beds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, David, Harold and Harris and a sister, Ruth.

Survivors include Debrah Harman of Vancouver, Wash.; Les Knudson of Havre; Jan Knudson of Great Falls; Simon the cat; a sister, Sarah Lee Strum of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, PO Box 2472, Spokane, WA, 99210-2472.
