Local United Way offers 2000 funding

The Hill County United Way is looking for non-profit agencies that need funding, United Way Director Bob Rice said.

Rice said they are currently holding their annual agency request from the United Way. The request is for all non-profit agencies that desire to receive United Way funds to subsidize their current budget.

Rice said they currently help 16 agencies in Hill County. He said they will always consider any other agency that would like to submit a request.

The deadline for submittal is April 15. Rice said applications are available at the United Way office located on First Street in the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce office. Their phone number is 265-6561.

"This is an opportunity for organizations which struggle on imited funding and are willing to take the time to fill out the paperwork and present their case to the United Way board to receive some monthly help to better serve their users," Rice said.

Rice said any qualifying agencies can apply.

"We want to encourage organizations to apply," he said. "It's a good opportunity for some well-needed money for them. If they don't have time to fill out the paperwork, maybe they can call us and we can make arrangements."

Rice said the Havre United Way looks forward to serving the community and welcomes its input to their operations.
