Henry Stolz, 90, a long time Havre area resident, died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at a Great Falls care center of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Walt Kirkegaard officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Stolz was born Jan. 15, 1910 in Martin, N.D., to Fred and Emma (Ohlhauser) Stolz. He moved with his family to the Box Elder area in 1913, where they farmed. They later moved north of Havre to farm. He joined the Army Air Force in 1942 and served until he was honorably discharged in 1945.
In 1951, he married Mildred Karhu. He worked as a custodian for the Havre School District until 1975. He was employed at the Duck Inn for several years.
Stolz was an avid gardener and a member of First Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1991, sisters, Lydia Nault, Emma Hyslop and Viola Deppmeier and a brother, Alfred Stolz.
Survivors include daughters, Annette Swinney of Havre, Irene Racette of Livingston, Texas, Roine Allen of Phelan, Calif., and Darlene Kuntz of Mesquite, Texas; sons, Albert Karhu of Tempe, Ariz., and Elmer Karhu of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Elizabeth Solnicka of Richland, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
