GLADYS CROSS: Obituary

Gladys Olson Cross, 102, Havre, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at a Havre care center of natural causes.

Graveside services and burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery will be 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Kenn Green officiating.

Cross was born Oct. 20, 1897 to Ole and Mary (Moen) Olson in Michigan, N.D. she attended schools there, graduating in 1917. Cross came to Montana in August 1917 to work for the great Northern Railway at a clerk operator. She married Hubert Cross in Minneapolis, Minn. July 25, 1922.

Cross was a member of the Presbyterian Church, World War One Auxiliary #1301, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary #497, and Burlington Northern Retirees.

Cross was preceded in death by her parents, sons Eugene and William, and two sisters.

Survivors include her son-in-law and daughter-in-law Howard and Doris Burress of Albuquerque, N.M.; one nephew, five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or person's choice.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
