The Fort Benton Longhorns stopped the Chinook Sugarbeeters in dual tennis action on Wednesday.
The Longhorns won the singles' division 7-2 and swept the doubles, 5-0.
In varsity action, Fort Benton's Lacey Schultz, a favorite for the conference singles' title, defeated Chinook's No. 1 player Cassie Jerguson, 6-1.
Shultz also defeated No. 2 singles' player Kelsie Whitney, 6-1.
Jerguson went on to defeat Kristen Bailey, 6-2. However, Bailey defeated Whitney, 6-3.
Chinook's Savannah Brown split on the day, defeating Callie Olson 7-6, but falling to Janae Singer, 6-1.
No. 4 singles' player Susan Thackeray lost two tough matches, 6-3, 6-4.
In varsity doubles' action, Julianna Hellman and Christy Baker combined in a 6-2 loss to the Longhorns' Ghekerie and McGinnis.
Kelsey Altenhofen and Elizabeth Stuker, the No. 2 doubles' team from Chinook, fell in a 6-4 match.
In junior varsity play, the Sugarbeeters went 5-5 in singles' action and 6-0 in doubles play.
Jen Heilman, Jessica Painter, Jerguson, Heather Bissaillon, and Kelly Acra captured singles' wins.
The doubles' teams of Heilman/Jerguson, Painter/Heilman, Acra/Painter, Bissaillon/Heilman, and Painter/Jerguson also won titles.
