LONGVIEW, Wash. Marion Lear, 78, died Thursday, April 13, 2000 at a Portland, Ore. hospital of natural causes.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Longview with Pastor Kathy Vackey officiating. Entombment will be at Longview Memorial Park. Viewing was from 2 to 5 p.m. today and continues from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Lear was born Dec. 28, 1921 to Frank V. and Lois Henderson at Warrick. She attended school in Warrick and Big Sandy.
She married Roy Lear in Havre on July 31, 1939. They lived in Marysville, Wash. for several years and lived in Longview since 1982.
Lear enjoyed sewing, was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed ceramics and crocheting. She and her husband enjoyed sightseeing in Alaska when he worked on the pipeline.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Longview.
Lear was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jimmy Lear, in 1965.
Survivors include her husband, Roy Lear of Longview; four sons: Vern Lear of Auburn, Wash., Harold Lear of Butte, Douglas Lear of Spokane, Wash., and Lonnie Lear of Brentwood, Calif.; brother, Frank Henderson of Billings; four sisters: Helen Curtiss of Chehalis, Wash., Frances Riekel of Great Falls, Verna Carol of Yakima, Wash., and Betty Able of Wilbur, Wash.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dahl McVicker Funeral Home of Longview is in charge of arrangements.
