Mike Rao is not one of the finalists for the presidency of Midwestern State University in Wichita, Texas.
Rao, chancellor of Montana State University-Northern, was not available for comment on the situation.
Rao said earlier this month that he has been so busy dealing with issues at MSU-Northern and with the Montana State University system he has not been giving a lot of thought to his nomination status at other university systems. He said it was too early in the selection stage to give it much of his attention.
At that time, Rao said he was not aware of being considered for positions at any other universities.
Rao had also been selected as one of five finalists at Salisbury State University in Maryland, but was not selected as one of the three finalists recommended to the board of regents there.
Midwestern State University announced Friday that Henry Moon, provost at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, and Dr. R. Victor Morgan, president of Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, are the two finalists referred to that university's board of regents for final selection.
